ETUDE FOR THE VOID

2010

The void is a reflecting cube made of dark glass, 1 m wide with a broken edge. A reflection about the unknown, the unknowable, about what exists but cannot be perceived through the senses, even if it has a material interaction with reality. 90% of the known universe is supposed to be made by dark matter, something that is not directly observable but is traceable for its effects. Religion revolves around something unknowable as its center. Scientific and philosophical tradition identifies a limit on what the human mind can understand. Beyond this limit, there’s the unknowable. It became the focus of all human research. Continuous research of the unknowable is maybe cracking a bit the surface of this mysterious entity making the void that the human being investigates a little less dark.
